Azerbaijan's Territorial Integrity Has No Connection to Artsakh: Arman Tatoyan
Azerbaijan's territorial integrity has no connection to Artsakh and never has. This is the fundamental idea and reality. This was stated by the former Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, on his Facebook page.
“Despite this, Azerbaijani authorities have constantly distorted reality and advanced their policies of ethnic extermination. In 1920, around this time, massacres of the Armenian population in Shushi were taking place. Tens of thousands of Armenians were brutally killed and displaced, and Shushi was fundamentally destroyed with the active participation of the Turkish army. These were continuations of criminal acts committed in the logic of the Armenian Genocide in Artsakh. Moreover, similar intentions later led to the massacres of the Armenian population in Baku, Sumgait, and other cities.”
The April 2016 and 44-day war of 2020 were results of the same policy unleashed by Azerbaijan. What is currently happening to the more than 100,000 peaceful residents of Artsakh is a continuation of Azerbaijani policies with the same intentions, ranging from gunfire directed at peaceful settlements to depriving them of heating and hot water during cold weather, forcing them to leave Artsakh. They are doing everything possible to prevent people from restoring a peaceful life.
