Turkey Takes Action Regarding Mine Reports in the Black Sea: Erdoğan

The Turkish Ministry of Defense is taking the necessary measures in connection with reports of drifting mines in the Black Sea, stated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The Russian Federal Security Service reported on Sunday that Ukrainian forces had placed approximately 420 mines near the ports of Odesa, Ochakiv, Chernomorsk, and Yuzhny following the start of the Russian special operation.

The service did not rule out the possibility that currents could cause mines to drift towards the Bosphorus and subsequently into the Mediterranean Sea basin.
