It Is Not Excluded That Many People May Remain Unemployed: 'Pasts'

The newspaper 'Pasts' reports: 'In recent days, active information has been circulating that the Teghut mine operating in the Lori region has ceased its activities. Initially, according to official statements, it was planned to suspend work for only two weeks. Various reasons were mentioned as well. According to an official response provided to media outlets, the work at 'Teghut' was halted due to certain technical reasons; however, the circumstances surrounding the sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation and Russian organizations were also speculated.

According to 'Pasts' newspaper's information, the suspension of 'Teghut's' activities will not be limited to the aforementioned short term. Moreover, according to our sources, it may be officially announced that operations will be suspended indefinitely starting April 1. Furthermore, if employees were informed that they will be partially paid during the mandatory downtime, there remains significant uncertainty for the future, and it is not excluded that many people will be unemployed. This situation has created panic in Alaverdi and the surrounding villages, as many may see their only source of income 'dry up' in an already tumultuous situation.'
