Two Soldiers Arrested in Investigation of Soldier's Death: Details

The investigation conducted by the ninth garrison investigative division of the Military Investigative Committee of Armenia has revealed several circumstances surrounding the death of soldier Albert Levoni Siroyan. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

Earlier, it was reported that mandatory military service soldier Private Albert Levoni Siroyan received a fatal injury on March 16, 2022, at approximately 21:10, at a combat position of military unit N, where he was shot in the neck by a round fired from an AK-74 assault rifle.

As a result of immediate investigative and procedural actions carried out during the preliminary investigation, one of the soldiers on duty at the combat position, a mandatory military service soldier, was arrested under the first part of Article 359 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. Another soldier on duty at the same position, a junior sergeant, is suspected of committing an offense under the first part of Article 375.

The investigation is ongoing. Necessary measures are being taken to clarify all circumstances of the incident and to ensure an objective and comprehensive investigation.
