Several Roads Closed Due to Heavy Snowfall and Lack of Visibility

The Road Department informs that as of March 21 at 17:00, several roads are closed for all types of vehicles due to heavy snowfall and lack of visibility. The following roads are affected: the Vorotan Pass (Saravan-Zanger), Kapan-Tatev highway, Vardenyats Pass, Gndevaz-Jermuk, Ttujur-Navgur, Alagyaz-Artik, Lanjarr-Lusahog, and Torosgyugh-Ashotsk-Bavra.

The Novemberyan-Ijevan and Vanadzor-Alaverdi highways, along with the Dilijan and Stepanavan bends, are closed for vehicles with trailers, while other types of vehicles can pass with difficulty.

Snowfall is reported in the regions of Goris, Kapan, Gavarr, Martuni, Dilijan, Ashotsk, Vanadzor, Stepanavan, and Tumanyan. There are patches of black ice on the Martuni-Gavarr and Martuni-Vardenis roads.

Road construction teams are working on clearing and treating the roads with salt and sand. Other interstate and republican roads remain open. To avoid accidents and traffic jams, drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
