Gunshots in Lori Province: Councillor Hospitalized with Gunshot Wounds
On March 20, gunshots were reported in Lori Province. At approximately 23:15, the Vanadzor Medical Center alerted the police department in the city of Vanadzor that a citizen had been brought in with gunshot wounds.
According to shamshyan.com, while doctors were providing assistance to the injured individual, police and investigators determined that he was 25-year-old Edgar Meliksetyan, a resident of Lorut village in Lori Province. It was revealed that earlier that day, around 19:30, a dispute had taken place at a fellow villager's house between Meliksetyan and another person.
Sources indicate that this individual is 19-year-old Nairi Matevosyan. The latter reported the altercation to his father, 43-year-old Vigen Matevosyan, who is known in the village by the nickname “Posholants Vigen.” Following that, it is believed that Vigen Matevosyan fired on Edgar Meliksetyan with an unidentified firearm in retaliation.
According to reports, the injured Edgar Meliksetyan is a council member in the enlarged community of Tumanyan in Lori Province.
