EU to Establish Rapid Reaction Forces, Conduct Exercises at Sea and Land
The European Union has coordinated a defensive framework for the first time, which involves the creation of rapid reaction forces, as reported by media sources.
"To establish European rapid reaction forces consisting of 5,000 military personnel for swift actions in various crisis situations," the statement said.
The EU has also agreed to conduct regular exercises at sea and on land.
Previously, it was announced that EU foreign affairs and defense ministers approved the first framework in the history of the Union's "Strategic Compass."
