US Rewards Whistleblowers on Russian Activities, Says Zakharova

Washington has urged its citizens to report "any funds obtained as a result of corrupt activities involving the Government of the Russian Federation," promising financial rewards to those who do.

This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, on her Telegram channel, noting that the US is encouraging "whistleblowing" amidst its own economic difficulties.

“What a creative field to thrive in, isn’t it? Especially considering the unexpectedly arrived inter-season break. The American authorities should hurry up, otherwise, those resting in such circumstances might suddenly feel nostalgic. Agree, this is alarming news for those who are currently trying to hastily place golden eggs in Euro-Atlantic baskets,” wrote Zakharova, simultaneously reminding the US that it has much to account for, such as details on the illegal freezing of foreign assets or the whereabouts of the “Afghan billions” allocated for the reconstruction of the country and infrastructure development.

“However, since the US has decided to focus on our country and members of its government, let me remind them. Recently, the former member of the Russian government, Andrey Kozyrev, has been increasingly appearing in Western media. Don’t the US officials fighting corruption and bribery want to inquire about the source of income of this citizen living in the US, as well as his connections and business ties, or should we help?” Zakharova wrote. “The financial reward I could receive might be transferred by the US government to the Clinton Foundation, while also verifying it.”
