Putin Calls Removal of Russians from Beijing Paralympics a Peak of Cynicism

Russian President Vladimir Putin has referred to the removal of the Russian and Belarusian Paralympic teams from the Beijing Paralympics as a peak of cynicism.

"The peak of cynicism was the removal of Russian and Belarusian athletes from the Beijing Paralympic Games. Not only innocent athletes suffered, but also Paralympic athletes, people who did not break, but overcame the most difficult trials of life, deserving of global support. And admiration, those who, by their example, give hope to millions, making them believe in themselves and their strength," Putin stated in his message to participants of the games.
