NSS Identifies the Root Cause of the Altercation in the National Assembly: 4 MPs Interrogated

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that discussions have begun regarding the criminal case initiated by the National Security Service (NSS) concerning the incident that occurred in the National Assembly on December 7, 2021, in order to determine who, if anyone, should be charged.

As is known, on that day, a conflict arose between several members of the ruling Civil Contract party and the aides of the opposition Armenia bloc.

Moreover, the NSS has already interrogated officials from the Civil Contract party, including Hratchya Hakobyan, the brother-in-law of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, as well as Vahagn Aleksanyan, Sisak Gabrielyan, and Armen Khachatryan.

Incidentally, the NSS has also interrogated over ten staff members of the National Assembly's administrative team in connection with the case.

The root cause of the incident has been identified by the NSS. It was a result of an unpleasant exchange of remarks and expressions between Hratchya Hakobyan and the assistant of Armenia bloc MP Tatevos Avetisyan, Gerasim Vardanyan.

The MPs have been interrogated in the capacity of witnesses. It is noteworthy that the criminal case has been initiated under the first point of the third part of Article 258 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to hooliganism.
