Foreign TV Series Banned in Afghanistan
The Taliban has officially prohibited the airing of any foreign television series in Afghanistan. This was reported by a participant of a meeting intended for broadcasters, as stated in a report by RIA Novosti.
Previously, series from countries like India and Turkey were broadcast in Afghanistan, gaining a significant audience along with their soundtracks.
The meeting between the Taliban's cultural commission and the Ministry of Restrictions and Afghan broadcasters took place on Thursday. It was noted that no excuses would be accepted for violations of the ban.
One participant indicated that the restriction effectively means shutting down televisions, as Afghanistan lacks a film industry.
