Which School in Gyumri Hosted the Event Supporting Russia: New Details
Recently, we reported that an event supporting Russia took place yesterday with the participation of students from one of the schools in Gyumri. According to Auroranews, this involves the No. 19 Russian school in Gyumri, located in the 8th military district, where predominantly Russian ethnic students study. It is important to note that there are also Armenian children attending this school, which is why photographs from the event have sparked significant outrage within the community.
Levon Barseghyan, the president of the Asparez Press Club, commented on the topic: “A few people, fully aware that the school where the children were gathered yesterday is not under the jurisdiction of the RA Ministry of Education and Science, but rather under the jurisdiction of Russia, where the children of mostly Russian citizens, including ethnic Armenians, study, continue to point fingers at Gyumri and its residents, questioning why they do not take a stand. I would like to ask, what do you want us to do? Go and enter the Russian base military facility, demolish this school, or take the principal hostage, or just be content with curses... I repeat, I am speaking about those who know very well that this school is not under RA jurisdiction, it's a structure of the military base, and the residents of Gyumri are not to blame for the existence of this base and school, nor for the presence of Peremyakov or Razhgildyiev.”
I suggest that the Ministry of Education and Science finally make a statement to clarify all of this.
