New Challenge on the Artsakh Issue: 'Hraparak'

'Hraparak' newspaper reports: The parliamentary opposition has decided to make the dire situation in Artsakh a topic of discussion. As is known, there has been heightened tension at the border for two weeks, and since March 8, Artsakh has been deprived of natural gas. The Azerbaijani side has been preventing the repair of the gas pipeline for days, school holidays have been extended, and several factories in Artsakh are not operational. Artsakh is on the brink of a humanitarian disaster.

The 'Hayastan' and 'Pativ Unem' factions have appealed to the Speaker of the National Assembly to convene an urgent meeting on the topic of 'The humanitarian situation created in the Republic of Artsakh, threats, and urgent actions.' They propose to hold it on the third main meeting of the regular session scheduled for March 22, Tuesday. The opposition emphasizes the importance of reports by Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan at the session.

The question remains whether the ruling majority will respond to this demand, given that Armenia acts as a guarantor of Artsakh's security, or if this initiative will also be dismissed as have other initiatives concerning Artsakh. Yesterday, the ruling team had not yet received instructions on what actions to take.
