«Why Should I Be Upset or Disturbed? Nothing Changes for Me» - Melikset Poghosyan on His Dismissal as Governor of Syunik

«Hraparak» newspaper writes: «Have you been upset that you, a commander who has gone through war, were dismissed from the post of Governor of Syunik and replaced by an unknown assistant of the Prime Minister?» we asked Melikset Poghosyan. At the time of our call, he was hurrying to the governor’s office for the presentation ceremony of the new governor.

«Why should I be upset or disturbed? Nothing changes for me whether I hold a position or not. Loving my country and my people, I have always found myself in difficult situations, knowing my biography, you shouldn’t have asked that question,» he responded.

It seems the authorities did not respect your biography. «Let’s not talk about that. I am what I am, and until my last breath, I will continue to help. The new governor will also manage; he is younger than me.»

Do you believe that being young is an advantage? «Time will tell. We wish him health and success so that he can carry this burden with honor and dignity.»

Is it true that you will be appointed as an advisor to the Minister of Defense? «I have not decided yet; I have health issues to deal with. We will decide and serve. We're not the type to sit idly.»
