Emergency Situation in Syunik: Truck Drivers Sleep Under Open Sky

Heavy snowfall, along with the poor operation of road construction companies servicing the highways in Syunik, has created problems on the region's roads, reports Shamshyan.com.

It is noted that for several days now, a large number of drivers, including truck drivers, have been reporting that they are sleeping under the open sky.

"We don’t know whom to turn to for at least a little humane approach towards our citizens. Who has seen such chaos on the roads in the 21st century? There are no roadworks being done on stretches of several kilometers; only traffic police and rescuers occasionally stop by to check on us, but we have not received any response from the relevant authorities," said one of the drivers in an interview with the website.
