Zelensky Says Main Issue for Ukraine's Delegation in Negotiations
Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine are set to take place today. Ahead of the talks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that the goal is to obtain "effective guarantees." He did not specify what type of guarantees he was referring to.
According to Zelensky, the main task for the Ukrainian delegation in negotiations with the Russian Federation is to arrange for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. "Our delegation has a clear task: to do everything possible to ensure the meeting between the presidents takes place. I am confident people are waiting for that. It’s a difficult story, a challenging path, but necessary. Our goal is that in this fight, in this difficult negotiation work, Ukraine gets the necessary results for us, so that we have normal and effective guarantees for peace, for security. And in such a way that Ukrainians can say: this works, these are guarantees," he stated regarding the prospects of negotiations with Putin.
Three rounds of negotiations have already taken place in Belarus concerning the resolution of relations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine. As a result of these talks, more than 10 humanitarian corridors have been established, and over 5,000 people were evacuated on Sunday.
