Zangezur Corridor, Russian-Ukrainian War: What Aliyev and Erdogan Discussed for 4 Hours

On March 10, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during a one-day working visit in Ankara. According to Ermenihaber.am, following the approximately 4-hour meeting, the Turkish Presidency’s Public Relations Directorate released information stating that the presidents discussed Turkish-Azerbaijani relations and regional issues, including the latest developments in the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The parties emphasized their determination to strengthen Turkey-Azerbaijan relations in all areas based on the principles of brotherhood and friendship.

During the mentioned meeting, steps to deepen and develop the strategic cooperation agreed upon by the Shushi Declaration were discussed. Additionally, issues related to the Zangezur Corridor and the Turkey-Nakhchivan gas pipeline project were addressed. Aliyev and Erdogan also exchanged views on how Turkey-Azerbaijan cooperation can contribute to Europe’s energy security.
