Female Employees in Ministries Receive Nothing: 'Hraparak'
According to the newspaper 'Hraparak', 'The authorities of Armenia continue to squander state budget resources by providing bonuses, gifts, and various incentives at the expense of taxpayers' money. It was reported yesterday that the staff of the National Assembly awarded female deputies and women employees of the assembly with 70,000 drams each on the occasion of March 8.
The decision to do favors for official women at the expense of the budget was made by Vahan Naribekyan, the head of the Assembly staff. However, it is not only the National Assembly that is so generous; the government staff also decided to distribute bonuses to female employees from the budget. But, unlike the lavish National Assembly, the government staff was more modest, awarding female government employees 50,000 drams each. Women in the government were somewhat unhappy, asking, why should we receive less than the women in the Assembly when we are supposed to be the principal managers of the budget?
But the female employees in the ministries were the most disheartened; they were not even aware that their colleagues in the neighboring building had been awarded, while they received nothing at all.'
