Due to Heavy Snow, Many Trucks Are Unable to Travel in Lori Province

Due to heavy snow that has fallen since yesterday, there is an emergency situation in Lori Province. Trucks are unable to move from the Gogavan checkpoint towards Tashir and along the Stepanavan-Gyargyarr-Vanadzor highway due to snow accumulation in the Gyargyarr twists.

Drivers stranded near Gogavan told SHAMSHYAN.com’s correspondent, “The situation has been terrible since yesterday. No relevant authorities are taking measures to clear the road from snow and black ice. We have contacted the road service, and they promised to come but have not arrived. Only the traffic police have been coming occasionally to manage traffic, but that does not solve the problem. The snow needs to be removed with graders, and the road must be treated with salt and sand, after which it will be possible to travel. The same situation is observed in the Gyargyarr twists.”

Throughout the night, officers from the first platoon of the fifth battalion of the second police regiment have been on duty in the mentioned areas, led by battalion commander Garik Martirosyan and inspectors Arthur Azaryan and Gagik Khachatryan. The battalion commander has already contacted the responsible officials of the road service, who promised to come again and fulfill their obligations.
