Azerbaijani Armed Deployment and Its Dangers: Arman Tatoyan Releases a Map
The former Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, has made a Facebook post addressing the armed deployment of Azerbaijanis along the main road from Kapan to Jrakaten and its associated dangers.
“This is the illegal Azerbaijani armed deployment along the Kapan-Jrakaten main road, where, supposedly, customs and border control were established, and this road has been completely blocked since last November. This road is strategically vital for the security and sustenance of the entire Kapan community. It connects the city of Kapan to the villages of Jrakaten, Srashen, Shikahogh, Tsav, and Shishkert. Right next to this road is the Kapan 'Syunik' airport.
The so-called alternative road also runs directly under Azerbaijani deployment, without any security guarantees. Azerbaijani armed placements in these areas pose a direct threat primarily to Kapan, but also to our entire country, as well as to the life and safety of the entire population. They have additional deployments that have completely disrupted the normal life of the people. Any Azerbaijani armed deployment near our villages or along the roads between communities has no legal basis whatsoever.”
