Armenia and Azerbaijan's Perceptions Are Aligned: We Are Moving Towards Peace, Kocharian

The perceptions of Armenia and Azerbaijan regarding the peace era are aligned. We are moving towards peace, said Andranik Kocharian, the chairman of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security, during a conversation with reporters in parliament today.

Referring to the recent provocations by the adversary at the border of Artsakh, Kocharian stated that every incident should be investigated, and those responsible should be punished, regardless of whether we have our share of the blame or if it lies with the opponent. "There were mortar fire incidents on the night of March 7 and on March 8 in Artsakh, which have been officially reported, and beyond that, there have been no further actions, no injuries, no casualties, while the gas pipeline in the Lisagor area was damaged," Kocharian remarked.

According to Kocharian, Azerbaijan is taking advantage of the fact that Russia is currently engaged in a war and is trying to create difficulties in the Artsakh region. "Since Russia is the guarantor of the ceasefire regime and is currently involved in active military operations elsewhere, the adversary may be trying to exploit this situation to create certain difficulties in the Artsakh area. Most likely, these issues will be resolved through dialogue between Russia and Azerbaijan," said Andranik Kocharian.
