Snow, Closed Roads: Situation in the Republic

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed roads in the territory of Armenia.

The roads leading from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to Amberd Fortress and K'ari Lake are closed.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trailers and heavy vehicles.

There is snowfall in the towns of Spitak, Stepanavan in the Lori region, Hrazdan, Tsaghkadzor in Kotayk region, Jermuk in Vayots Dzor region, and in Gyumri city of Shirak region, as well as in the regions of Ashotzk, Amasia, and Aragatsotn, particularly in Aparan and Aragats.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia’s Emergency Situations Department and the Crisis Management Center of North Ossetia of the Russian Federation, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
