Hovik Abrahamyan's Family Mansion Sold: Who Is the Buyer?
The luxurious mansion of former Prime Minister and former National Assembly President Hovik Abrahamyan, located on Freedom Avenue in Yerevan, has been sold and has a new owner. The transaction took place on March 1. Civilnet has investigated this deal.
Hovik Abrahamyan's family owned two private houses on Freedom Avenue in Yerevan. One belonged to his son, Argam Abrahamyan, while the other belonged to his wife, Julietta Abrahamyan. The sold mansion belonged to Argam Abrahamyan and was designed to resemble the parliament building. According to cadastral documents, the mansion covers an area of 2,580 square meters. The property was previously owned by Hovik Abrahamyan's driver, fruit vendor Grigor Gevorgyan, who transferred it to Argam Abrahamyan as a donation in 2013. Following the donation agreement, the Yerevan municipality allocated an address for the property, after which construction began.
The basement of the mansion consists of two saunas, three bathrooms, a gym, a massage room, a cinema, and a sleeping area for house staff, as well as a storeroom. The first floor includes three bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, an area for a fireplace, and dressing rooms. The second floor contains four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and four dressing rooms, along with an outdoor balcony. The yard features two outdoor lounges, two guard posts, a boiler room, and a swimming pool. The cadastral value of the property exceeds 310 million drams.
The mansion has been transferred from the Abrahamyan family to the newly prominent businessman Narek Nalbandian's family. On March 1, Argam Abrahamyan signed the sale-purchase agreement of the mansion with Nalbandian's wife, Lilit Petrosyan. The price of the mansion amounted to 2.5 billion drams (over 5.1 million dollars). Of that amount, 48 million drams have already been paid by buyer Lilit Petrosyan, while the remaining 2.452 billion drams will be paid by August 1. The handover of the mansion to Petrosyan is scheduled for that time.
Narek Nalbandian became publicly known during the sale of the "Golden Palace" hotel complex in Tsaghkadzor. On February 11, the state sold the "Golden Palace" to Nalbandian through the company "Project Inter-Invest" for 5 billion drams.
