Obstructing Gas Supply to Artsakh is a Terroristic Act by Azerbaijan: Tatoyan
The former Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, made a Facebook post addressing the issue of gas supply disruptions in Artsakh. The post states:
“Regarding the gas emergency in Artsakh, there are at least four confirmed facts at this moment:
- The entire territory of the Republic of Artsakh has been deprived of gas since last night, from 1 AM.
- The emergency is in a section of the Shushi region that is under Azerbaijani control.
- The Azerbaijani side is obstructing and not allowing the specialists of the 'Artsakhgaz' company to eliminate the emergency and restore gas supply.
- The Azerbaijani side has not provided any explanations regarding the cessation of gas supply or the reasons for the emergency.
It is evident that the cessation of gas supply will cause serious humanitarian issues and mass violations of the rights of the entire population of Artsakh, which exceeds 100,000 people.
The obstruction by Azerbaijani armed forces of the restoration of gas supply and their failure to provide explanations clearly indicates criminal intent, a terrorist act against more than 100,000 people. This is an explicit manifestation of Azerbaijani xenophobia and hostility, demonstrating the absence of intentions for peace on the part of the Azerbaijani authorities and their genocidal policies towards Artsakh.
These facts have been confirmed by the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh and the National Security Service of the Republic of Artsakh.”
