Discussions with Putin are Difficult: What Macron has Revealed
French President Emmanuel Macron believes that a political solution to the situation in Ukraine will not be found in the short term and that military operations will likely continue. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
"Discussions with Putin are difficult because today he refuses to cease fire. Russia is currently positioned to demand very harsh conditions from Ukraine. These are negotiations between Ukraine and Russia that take place under very unfair conditions of aggression, in conditions where France will not intervene," Macron said during a pre-election meeting with the French on Monday.
He noted that France, Germany, and Europe did "everything possible to avoid the war" and emphasized that Europe plans to impose new sanctions against the Russian Federation, to which Moscow will respond with counter-sanctions.
