Shooting Incident in Kotayk Province: Uncle Shoots Nephew in the Buttocks Over 'Half-Open Windows' TV Show Dispute

A shooting incident occurred in Kotayk Province on March 6. Around 7:00 AM, 70-year-old Samvel P. from Yeghvard city reported to the Nairi Police Department that his 35-year-old nephew, Mher P., had come to their home and struck him on the head with an object, after which he shot Mher in the buttocks with his hunting rifle.

According to Shamshyan.com, police discovered that on the same day, around 6:00 AM, Mher P. had come to Samvel's residence due to previous household disputes. He closed the gate of the yard, and during this time, Samvel opened a window, at which point Mher struck him on the head with an object.

Samvel reported this to the police, adding that after the incident, he retrieved his 16 mm caliber IZH-58 hunting rifle from a non-combustible cupboard in his house and shot Mher.

During the investigation, Mher P. explained that he had gone to the specified address to find out why Samvel made defamatory remarks about his deceased parents during the 'Half-Open Windows' television show. He knocked on the gate, but no one answered, and when he tried to leave, he heard a gunshot and felt a gunshot wound on the right side of his buttocks. He also stated that when he fell, Samvel approached him, but he could not remember whether Samvel was holding the rifle at that time.

A forensic examination has been initiated by the investigator regarding the incident.
