Is the Possible Involvement of CSTO Forces in the War Being Discussed? What Scenarios Might Arise
In response to the question of the possible involvement of CSTO forces in military operations in Ukraine, it was stated that this issue is not being discussed. Today, on March 7, during a traditional press briefing in the National Assembly, Edward Aghajanyan, the chairman of the Assembly's Permanent Committee on Foreign Relations and a member of the 'Civil Contract' faction, made this remark.
Nevertheless, he did not rule out the potential for this issue to be discussed in the future. "If a specific situation arises, then this question will be addressed with the relevant arguments," said Aghajanyan.
For his part, his party colleague Vahagn Aleksanyan added that the CSTO intends to engage the organization's forces only in the event of armed clashes on the territory of one of the participating countries. The representative considers it unlikely that military operations will be transferred to the territory of the Russian Federation, and noted that Ukraine is not a member of the CSTO.
