Gyumri Man Suspected of Accidentally Killing His Uncle

The Shirak regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under the features of point 14 of part 2 of Article 112 of the RA Criminal Code, within the framework of which necessary investigative and procedural actions are being carried out to clarify the circumstances of the death of a 63-year-old resident of Gyumri.

Reports regarding the incident were received on March 5, 2022. Following this, an operational-investigative group, dispatched to the scene, discovered the body of the 63-year-old resident at one of the houses on M. Sargsyan Street in Gyumri. An external examination revealed trace amounts of blood and scratches on the victim's head.

During the preliminary investigation, a site inspection was conducted and samples were taken. A forensic medical examination of the body was also appointed. On the same day, the son of the victim's brother, born in 1984, was arrested on suspicion of committing the aforementioned crime. He has been interrogated about the circumstances of the incident.

The preliminary investigation continues. Measures are being taken to clarify all circumstances of the case and to ensure an objective and comprehensive examination.
