US Imposes Sanctions on Peskov and Russian Businessmen

The United States has enacted another round of sanctions. Included in the list published by the White House are Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov and seven major Russian businessmen along with their families, as well as several organizations. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

“Today, the US is imposing sanctions on a broad circle of close associates of Russian President Vladimir Putin and their families,” the statement from the White House noted.

The US authorities have announced that the sanctions will result in the freezing of their assets, the blocking of their properties, and their disconnection from the financial system. It is mentioned that the decision was made in connection with Russia's special operation in Ukraine.

The sanctions list includes Nikolai Tokarev, president of Transneft, Boris and Arkady Rotenberg, Sergei Chemezov, the CEO of Rostec, Igor Shuvalov, president of the VEB.RF State Development Corporation, billionaire Yevgeny Prigozhin, and Alisher Usmanov, founder of USM Holdings.

The restrictions also apply to their family members and companies.
