Photos: The Aircraft Destroyed in Hostomel Was Created as a Single Prototype and Had Yet to Take Flight

New images have emerged of the world's largest cargo aircraft, the AN-225 "Mriya," which was destroyed during the takeover of the Hostomel Airport in Ukraine. It was the biggest and heaviest cargo aircraft in aviation history, created as a single prototype.

It is worth noting that at the time of the invasion, the aircraft was undergoing repairs, which is why it had not yet taken to the skies from Ukraine.

According to Ukrainian authorities, the aircraft will be restored at the expense of the Russian side. Approximately $3 billion will be required for this restoration.
