Increase in Incidents of Aggression Against Russians Abroad: Russian Foreign Ministry

Ruslan Golubovsky, the Deputy Director of the Consular Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, has warned Russians about increasing incidents of aggression against compatriots abroad. This information has been reported by TASS.

The diplomat stated that various foreign agencies have begun to receive reports of a sharp rise in instances of persecution against Russian-speaking populations.

“There have been cases where our citizens are subjected to aggression, threats, and even become victims of attacks or physical violence,” he said.

At the same time, Golubovsky noted that in the near future, the Russian Foreign Ministry would assess all such incidents and determine appropriate response measures.

In early March, a Russian woman currently vacationing in Thailand spoke about the attitude of foreigners toward Russians against the backdrop of the situation in Ukraine. According to her, there is presently no discrimination against Russians in the kingdom.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the decision to conduct a special military operation for the defense of Donbas. Putin also addressed foreign forces that may pose a threat to Russia, stating that the country's response would be immediate.
