"Forever Yours, Heno": Mkhitaryan Retires from National Team

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the captain of the Armenian national team, has decided to end his international career. He announced this on his Facebook page.

"I remember the first time I wore the national team's jersey in a friendly match against Panama and when I scored my first goal in the World Cup qualifiers against Estonia. Regardless of the difficulties, I have wanted to win at every step of my career. Over the past 15 years, I have played with immense pride for my national team, and in the last 6 years, I have worn the captain's armband even more proudly. After 95 international matches, through hard work, dedication, and representing my country on the pitch, I have made the decision to end my participation in the Armenian national team. I reached this conclusion after my last match against Germany in November. I believe it is the right time, and I have given my national team everything I could. Therefore, in the coming years, I will fully focus on my club competitions. My football journey began in Armenia, my homeland, and I will be forever grateful to everyone who has supported me, who have coached and educated me, those I have played with, and finally, to everyone who has contributed to my development as a player and as a person. Good luck to my national team! Forever yours, Heno."
