Zelensky Appeals to World Jewry Again

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has addressed all Jews around the world following a missile attack by Russian forces on the site known as Babi Yar in Kyiv. The corresponding video message was released today.

As reported by korrespondent.net, Babi Yar is the location where mass executions of civilians, primarily Jews, Roma, and Soviet prisoners of war, were carried out during the German occupation of Ukraine in World War II by Nazis and Ukrainian collaborators.

Zelensky reminded that Babi Yar in Kyiv is a significant place, a site of prayer, and a memorial for the 100,000 people killed by the Nazis. He stated, “You are killing the victims of the Holocaust for the second time. It is crucial that right now, you—millions of Jews around the world—do not remain silent, as Nazism is born in silence. Therefore, shout about the murders of peaceful citizens, shout about the murders of Ukrainians,” said Zelensky.

It is important to recall that on the morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation for the demilitarization of Ukraine. In his televised address, he stated that circumstances “demand decisive and immediate actions from us, as the people's republics of Donbas have appealed to Russia for help.” According to the Russian leader, all responsibility for the bloodshed will rest on the conscience of the ruling regime in Ukraine. He called on Ukrainian soldiers not to follow the criminal orders of the Ukrainian authorities, to lay down their arms, and go home.
