Pashinyan on Events in Ukraine
Yerevan hopes that the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations will yield results and that diplomacy will be able to silence the guns. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during an event at the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, organized in connection with Armenia’s membership in the United Nations and the Day of Armenian Diplomats. He emphasized that it was impossible not to address the events in Ukraine during this diplomatic-focused event.
“We are following the unfolding events with a heavy heart, which, it is now evident, will have global implications. Our hope is that the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations scheduled for today will take place and bear fruit, enabling diplomacy to silence the guns,” Pashinyan concluded his speech with these words.
Earlier, Oleksiy Arestovych, an advisor to the head of the Ukrainian President's office, announced that the second round of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations scheduled to take place in Belarus would occur on the evening of March 2. The first meeting of the Russian and Ukrainian delegations took place on February 28 in the Gomel region of Belarus.
