EU Bans Sale and Export of Euro to Russia

The European Union has banned the sale, supply, and export of euro banknotes to Russia, as well as investments in projects co-financed by the Russian Direct Investment Fund. The relevant regulations were published in the EU Official Journal on Wednesday, according to TASS.

"The EU Council has prohibited investments, participation, or any other contribution to future projects co-financed by the Russian Direct Investment Fund. The Council has banned the sale, supply, transfer, or export of euro banknotes to Russia or any physical or legal persons, organizations, or bodies in Russia, including the government and the Central Bank of Russia or for use in Russia," the document states.
