‘Almost no one in the world has the legitimacy that Nikol Pashinyan has’ says Hovik Aghazaryan

Let’s not rush into these evaluations. Nikol Pashinyan is taken very seriously. Those who have expressed their views in one way or another could give rise to such evaluations from you or others; they are simply envious of the level of Pashinyan’s authority and legitimacy that he possesses.

In an interview with Hraparak, MP Hovik Aghazaryan from the ruling party responded to a journalist’s observation that the international community often draws parallels between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, suggesting that neither is taken seriously.

Aghazaryan noted that they had the courage to present themselves to the will of the people after the war and regain trust. To the question of whether Putin, Aliyev, and Erdogan envy Pashinyan’s authority, the ruling party MP replied, ‘Yes. Because almost no one in the world has the level of legitimacy that Nikol Pashinyan has in Armenia.’

Addressing the human losses suffered by the Armenian side during the war, Aghazaryan stated, ‘The people who not only mourn but also regret the death of their soldiers achieve much more serious successes than those who simply lament the death of a soldier.’
