Biden Comments on the Likelihood of Nuclear War
U.S. President Joe Biden has stated that Americans should not be concerned about a potential nuclear war, amid Russian President Vladimir Putin's announcements regarding the 'special' readiness of strategic forces.
As reported by Reuters, on Monday, reporters asked the White House chief whether Americans should fear nuclear war. 'No,' the U.S. President responded.
At the same time, Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby stated that the U.S. is 'monitoring and analyzing' the statements made by the President of the Russian Federation.
It is worth noting that earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu reported to President Vladimir Putin that, in accordance with his orders, the command posts of the Strategic Missile Forces, the Northern and Pacific Fleets, as well as the long-range aviation command, have begun carrying out combat duty with enhanced personnel.
On February 27, the Russian army was brought to special service mode by Putin's order. According to Putin, this decision was made in light of the aggressive statements from the West towards Russia.
