Cardholders of Sanctioned Banks Cannot Use ApplePay and GooglePay, Says Central Bank of Russia
Cards issued by banks that have fallen under "blocking" sanctions (VTB, Sovcombank, Novikombank, Promsvyazbank, Otkritie) cannot be used with ApplePay and GooglePay. This was announced by the Central Bank of Russia.
The message also states that the plastic cards of these cardholders continue to operate in Russia as before.
