Gunshots in Lori Region: What Happened Yesterday
On February 23, gunfire was reported in the Lori region. The Gugark police department received operational information about gunshots near the shop owned by Aramais Abazyan in the village of Lernapat.
According to shamshyan.com, at around 21:20 the same day, 75-year-old Aramais Abazyan, who works as a forest ranger for the Vanadzor forestry and as the director of "Aramais Abazyan" individual enterprise, informed the police that at around 17:50, two fellow villagers, 68-year-old Arshaluis Abazyan and Aramais Yesayan, whose identity is being established by the police, came to the grocery store at 1st address on 11th street of Lernapat village.
A dispute occurred between them, during which Arshaluis Abazyan took a weapon from inside a Niva vehicle and fired several times into the air.
The police also spoke with the shopkeeper, 55-year-old Vardush Shushanyan, a resident of Lernapat village. During their investigation at the scene, the police discovered spent shell casings, and suspect Arshaluis Abazyan was found at his home. He was inebriated and unable to provide an explanation of the incident.
As a result of police explanatory work, A. Abazyan's son, 41-year-old Karen Abazyan, a resident of Lernapat village, voluntarily presented a 7.62 mm caliber hunting rifle of "SKS" type to the police. The Niva vehicle involved was also found and transported to the special area of the Gugark police department.
