Vedu Reservoir to be Completed by Year-End; Design of 7 Reservoirs to Begin

The government made a budget redistribution during today’s session and allocated additional funds to ensure the smooth progress of the Vedu Reservoir construction grant program supported by the government of France. Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan stated that the total cost is 394.4 thousand euros.

"This decision will allow us to complete the construction works of the Vedu Reservoir. The main construction works are about 80 percent completed, and we will finish the reservoir construction by the end of this year. However, other systems are designed so that the flows from the rivers that need to fill the reservoir will come through the area and be used for irrigation during the season, until the reservoir is completely filled," he said.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan added that they had spoken about constructing around 15 small reservoirs during the electoral period. "We now have some progress in this direction. As far as I understand, we are now starting the design of the reservoirs in Kasakh, Argichi, Astghadzor, Yelpin, Artik, Lichq, and Yeghvard," he stated.
