Ukraine Calls Evacuation of Donetsk and Luhansk Residents to Russia 'Exile of Ukrainian Citizens'

Ukraine’s Chief Prosecutor Iryna Venedyktova announced the launch of an investigation into the illegal evacuation of residents from the self-proclaimed republics of Donbas to Russia. Venedyktova posted on her Facebook page, referring to the evacuation of civilians from Donbas as the 'exile of Ukrainian citizens.'

'Under the guise of this so-called 'evacuation,' which has no grounds, civilians—Ukrainian citizens—are being effectively exiled to the territory of the Russian Federation. Among them are vulnerable categories of our citizens, including orphaned children, students from boarding institutions, and patients from psychiatric medical facilities,' Venedyktova wrote.
