Armenia Today: Despite Being Wounded, Artsakh Stands Firm - Pashinyan

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has sent a message in connection with the anniversary of the Artsakh movement, stating:

“34 years ago around this time, the Artsakh movement began, which had a pivotal significance for the ongoing history of the Armenian people. The nationwide movement that formed in Armenia and Artsakh was exceptional in its power, profoundly national, and democratic. Through this nationwide movement, our people once again demonstrated their unity, the ability to rally as one unified fist at crucial moments, and to act decisively for the realization of national objectives.

The movement was the first step in the restoration of our statehood, through which we regained our determination to live freely and independently, to shape our destiny, and to manage our future. Today, we remember and bow our heads before our heroes, all the martyrs who gave their lives for the Fatherland during the first and second wars in Artsakh and in the last three decades.

Artsakh today, although wounded, stands firm. Our steps today are aimed not only at resolving the socio-economic issues of the Artsakh Armenian population and overcoming security challenges but also at defending the rights of the Armenian people of Artsakh and ensuring their international recognition.

I am confident that the Armenian people will soon heal the wounds of the past war and will move forward with even more decisive and stronger steps towards the future, for the realization of our aspirations and dreams. Only in this way can we keep the memory of all our heroic children alive. Opening an era of peaceful development for their generations and our common Fatherland will be the greatest tribute to their memory, which will guarantee the endurance of our state, the international recognition and realization of Artsakh’s rights. The realization of these objectives requires consistent, far-sighted, and honest work, and we must be unyielding in this work.”
