“Armenia, Artsakh, and the Diaspora Must Operate in a Coordinated Manner,” Says Ombudsman
“Do not allow the peaceful life in Artsakh to be restored after the war; everything must be done to keep people in despair and living in fear. This is a deliberate, systematic policy of the Azerbaijani authorities,” wrote Arman Tatoyan on his Facebook page.
He noted that this conclusion is based on facts, studies in Artsakh communities, discussions with people, and joint analyses with Gegham Stepanyan, the Ombudsman of Artsakh.
“The violations of the rights to a peaceful life, to live with dignity, and other vital rights are aimed at making the lives of the peaceful population impossible. Moreover, the gunfire is of a terroristic nature; for instance, they shoot directly at people’s homes when they are sleeping at night or while they are engaged in agricultural work, etc. However, everyone is determined to live peacefully and develop. They are heroes. The same is true for the residents of border areas in Armenia.”
“We, Armenia, Artsakh, and the Diaspora, must operate in a coordinated way, accurately understand the real motives and incentives behind the actions of the Azerbaijani authorities. We must properly assess our security issues and guarantees of rights. We should not allow the Azerbaijani authorities to mislead the international community. It is essential to understand the real intentions and the facts that reveal them. Today also marks the 34th anniversary of the Artsakh movement in 1988, which symbolizes the struggle for the protection of rights,” wrote Arman Tatoyan.
