Stabbing Incident in Yerevan

The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia is conducting urgent investigative and procedural actions in the Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan regarding a criminal case initiated under Part 1 of Article 112 of the RA Criminal Code, aimed at clarifying the circumstances of a case involving severe bodily harm to a 34-year-old resident of Yerevan.

The notification regarding the incident was received on February 17, 2022, at 20:35, from the ‘Heratsi’ No. 1 hospital complex, indicating that a 34-year-old man had been admitted for medical assistance with a diagnosis of a 'stab-wound to the anterior abdominal wall with significant damage to the omentum'.

During the preliminary investigation, he has been recognized as the victim. The hospital's criminal registry was examined, the victim's clothing was seized, and a kitchen knife, which is presumed to be the weapon of the crime and has blood-like traces, was discovered and confiscated at the crime scene along with its case. Several individuals have been interrogated, and examinations have been appointed.

The investigative body has been directed to undertake necessary measures to establish the identity of the alleged perpetrator and to locate him. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
