Fog, Black Ice: Situation on Roads in Armenia

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed and difficult road conditions across Armenia.

Roads leading from the 'Amberd' high mountain weather station in Aragatsotn Province to Amberd Fortress and Kary Lake are closed. The Vardenyats Pass is difficult to traverse for cargo vehicles with trailers (the use of snow chains is necessary).

In Syunik Province, the Agvani-Halidzor road is difficult to navigate, while black ice is present in some areas of the Dilijan bends in Tavush Province. Fog has been reported on the Goris-Kapan road in Syunik Province.

Regarding the Lars situation, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the North Ossetia's Crisis Management Center of the Russian Federation, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
