Deputy Chief of Staff Dismissed from Position

The acting President of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, has issued a decision based on which Arayik Harutyunyan has been relieved of his duties as Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and Head of the Intelligence Department of the General Staff.

The decision specifically states: 'Based on the Prime Minister's recommendation and in accordance with the first part of Article 133 of the Constitution, as well as the first part of Article 40 of the Law on Military Service and the Status of Military Personnel, Arayik Harutyunyan is dismissed from the position of Head of the Intelligence Department of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia.'
