«Արմնյուզ» TV Loses License, «Արմնյուզ FM» Returns to Air: Tigran Hakobyan
«Արմնյուզ» television company, part of the «Քառյակի մեդիա» group, has lost its broadcasting license, while «Արմնյուզ FM» is returning to air. The information was shared by HRA president Tigran Hakobyan in a conversation with Sputnik Armenia.
The Television and Radio Commission made the relevant decision during a meeting held today. According to Hakobyan, «Արմնյուզ FM», which also had not been broadcasting in recent days, submitted a written request to the HRA and has returned to the air.
It should be noted that the licenses for both the television and radio were suspended for 5 days. “The law allows for the suspension of a license for up to 30 days if the broadcaster does not provide airtime for more than 24 consecutive hours in the public multiplex or allocated FM domain. In this case, we chose to suspend the license for 5 days. During that time, the HRA received no written requests or clarifications from «Արմնյուզ» television,” Hakobyan emphasized.
It is worth recalling that «Քառյակի մեդիան», which includes the «Արմնյուզ» TV channel, Tert.am, and «Արմնյուզ FM», announced on February 10 that it would cease operations. In the coming month, the HRA will announce a new competition for the vacant frequency as per the established procedure.
