Video: Large Quantities of Drugs Discovered
In the night of February 13, officers from the Arabkir division of the police and community police pursued an Opel car in the Canyon of Korea, having received information that a passenger possessed drugs. At the moment of stopping the car for inspection, the 38-year-old passenger, a resident of the village of Apaga, threw out several packages.
During the inspection of the scene, the police discovered 5 packages containing over 100 grams of a crystalline substance resembling methamphetamine. A personal search of the suspect revealed a folding knife. Both the 38-year-old man and the taxi driver were taken to the Arabkir police station along with the vehicle. A criminal case has been initiated, and the 38-year-old man has been arrested.
The operational and investigative measures undertaken by the Arabkir police were joined by members of the criminal police department’s drug crime division and detectives from Yerevan city’s division. Law enforcement officials conducted a search in one of the houses on 4th Street of Nerk’in Shengavit, where the arrested person was actually living. They discovered over 1 kilogram and 100 grams of whitish substances and over 30 grams of pink substances, which, according to the 38-year-old man, were methamphetamine and ecstasy.
A further 70 grams of another substance, preliminarily identified as a type of drug known as “PVP,” was also discovered. The law enforcement officials found various tools and items intended for the processing and sale of drugs, effectively establishing what is referred to as a drug processing laboratory. Expert examinations have been appointed, and the investigation into the criminal case is ongoing.
