Person who caused a hit-and-run has confessed: new details
The Investigative Committee of Armenia is conducting investigative and procedural actions in connection with a criminal case initiated under parts 2 of Article 242 and part 1 of Article 244 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. The case concerns a hit-and-run incident involving a pedestrian on Arshakunyats Avenue.
According to initial data, at approximately 06:20 on February 16, 2022, at the intersection of Arshakunyats Avenue and Hrant Vardanian Street in Yerevan, a driver struck a pedestrian and fled the scene of the accident. Subsequently, the driver of a Mercedes-Benz also hit the same pedestrian.
As a result of the injuries sustained, the pedestrian died at the scene. On the same day, at 09:10, a 45-year-old man presented himself at the Shengavit division of the Yerevan Police and confessed, stating that he had been the one to hit the pedestrian with his Opel vehicle at around 06:15 on Arshakunyats Avenue.
The preliminary investigation continues.
