Snow in Vayq and Jermuk: Some Roads Closed and Difficult to Traverse
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that several roads in Armenia are closed or difficult to pass.
The roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to the Amberd Fortress and the Kar Lake are closed.
The Vardenyats Pass is difficult to traverse for trucks with trailers (chains are necessary). In Syunik Province, the Agvan-Halidzor road is difficult to pass, while there are patches of black ice in the Dilijan bends of Tavush Province.
Snow has fallen in the Vayots Dzor Province, in the Saravan area known as "Zanger," as well as in the cities of Vayq and Jermuk. Fog is reported along the Goris-Kapan road in Syunik Province.
According to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is open for all vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
